About me
My first experience with college started at 16 in Running Start, and I loved college
so much that I never really wanted to leave. After receiving my AA in Running Start
at Highline Community College, I transferred to Western Washington University where
I majored in Sociology and received my Washington State Teaching License. I taught
in K-12 for a few years, but never lost my love of higher education. I decided to
leave teaching and became the Running Start Program Coordinator at Highline College.
During that time, I received my Masters of Higher Education. That lead me here, to
TCC as a Running Start Advisor.
What do you enjoy most about academic advising?
My Running Start students! They never fail to surprise, entertain, and amaze me.
What makes TCC Special? (Why TCC?)
The people and community.
One thing about TCC you should know
We're here to help. Reach out and we'll be there!
Most memorable course or experience in college. What made it memorable for you?
First, I wanted to be a vet. Then, I wanted to be a teacher. Then I didn't know what
I wanted to be. It all lead me to where I am today, and I couldn't possibly be more
thankful for all of those failed dreams.
